MCCC to host 22nd Annual Technology and Learning Conference – October 7 Sept. 27, 2016, Blue Bell/Pottstown, PA— Registration is going on now for Montgomery County Community College’s 22nd Annual Technology and Learning Conference, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 7, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the College’s Central Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell. The conference will start in Parkhouse Hall with a light breakfast and keynote speaker. The sessions will be held in the Advanced Technology Center, and lunch will be provided. Designed for faculty and administrators from both higher education and K-12 sectors, the conference provides a forum for participants to share state-of-the-art information technologies, contribute to a vision of the future of information technology in the academic enterprise, and exchange ideas and best practices for incorporating technology, security and learning. The theme of this year's conference is “Enhancing the Educational Environment.” Thirty-five sessions are organized around several tracks, including: Teaching and Learning, Trending Topics, IT Infrastructure and Cloud Computing, Accessibility for our Students, Security and Identity Management and Analytics and Retention. The conference will begin with a keynote address by Brian Knotts, senior vice president and chief scientist of Ellucian. Based in Fairfax, Va., Ellucian provides technology solutions and services for higher education institutions. The company serves 2,400 institutions and 18 million students in 40 countries around the world. During his presentation, Knotts will speak about new solutions, including how new generation systems will combine traditional records processing with new patterns using social computing and then apply those solutions to any type of device. In the second part of the presentation, panel leaders from the educational field will discuss how these new tools, patterns and techniques will transform the workplace and how institutions can prepare students for the future. The cost of attending MCCC’s Technology and Learning Conference is $30, which includes all conference materials, parking, continental breakfast and lunch.
