SCORE Pottstown September 2016 Seminars will begin soon The Pottstown Chapter of SCORE, which serves the 3 corners area of Montgomery, Berks and Chester counties, begins its fall business education seminar season this month. We’ve added new subjects with more relevance to our community and businesses. And In the Beginning – Saturday, September 10, 9:30 – 11:30. An overview of the important considerations and plans for starting a business. In this 2 hour, 3 part seminar we will present: 1. The 3 forms of legal business entities to consider: Sole Proprietor, LLC & Incorporation. What are the legal, liability, tax and survivorship considerations of each? 2. Record keeping for a new business: What’s important to you, the lender, and for tax preparation? What are cash flow, P & L and balance sheet, why are they important and what do they mean to the management of your business? 3. A business plan: Learn the ingredients. This vital process for starting the business and measuring your success can be simple, or detailed, depending on the business and financial needs, but the basics are the same. How to earn a Profit? How much can I charge? – Wednesday, September 21, 6:30 – 8:00. How do I know what my costs are and how much I can charge for my product or services? “There may be nothing more important for a business than pricing a product or service to generate adequate returns for paying your bills and earning a profit. This workshop will give you the basic concepts and pricing strategies to consider in order to reach your financial goals. Marketing & Sales in the New World. - Wednesday, September 28, 6:30 – 8:00. Leave your preconceived notions at the door. How has marketing and selling changed? What, how and where can you most effectively communicate with your market? Are you able to look at your marketing and product through the eyes of a consumer? What will you see?
